Installing a printer like BJC 5100 is very easy. When you purchase such a printer you will be given a CD which contains the driver files for the printer. You need to have that CD in hand before you start installing the printer. Once you are ready connect the printer to your computer and then start your computer. It will usually detect a new hardware and the New Hardware Found wizard will open up. It will detect the new hardware i.e. the printer that is connected to your system.
Follow the steps in the wizard and it will ask for the CD or the path to the driver for the printer. During that time insert the CD in to your computer and select the appropriate drive and go to the next step. This will install the driver for your printer and your printer is ready to use. This procedure applies to any printer that you want to install. If you don t have the printer driver CD, then you can search the internet to find the appropriate driver and install the driver before you try to connect your printer.
