How to write a reference?

Writing a reference for a person should be done only if you know that person at least to some extent. Otherwise you might land in a trouble if you write a reference for an unknown person. As the resume of the person who is asking a reference from you and it could serve the purpose if you want to write a good reference. You can interact with the person requesting and find out their expectations and the deadline within which you need to give that reference. Vouch for what you know about that person and nothing more than that.

Some of the points that you might consider while writing a reference are how long you know that person and you may also write down the exceptional qualities of that person, their skill and their fields of interest. You might even given some examples to insist what you say about that person. You can write about their communication skills, academic and other achievements, and their analytical and logical ability. Avoid the weaknesses of that person and try to present the reference in a positive note. Don’t make it a biased one by praising them a lot. Review what you have written before handing over your reference.
