Pom Poms are easy to create and it can be made of any size according to your taste. If you are going to do this the first time, it is better to make small pom poms and then go for the bigger ones, once you know how to do it. This would save you a lot of time and material. The materials needed to create pom poms are cardboard, scissors, and double strand wool.
To start with cut the cardboard into two circles. Add a ? inch to the radius of the circle so that it can be used for trimming. Cut a center hole in the cardboard. The diameter of the center hole should also be accounted for when considering the diameter of the cardboard. Now wind up the wool around the cardboard until you fill up the center hole. Now with your scissors between the pieces of the cardboard cut the wool by running the scissors between the cardboard. Now use a double strand of wool and run it between the two cardboards and tie a knot. Then it is time to remove the cardboard and trim the pom poms if needed.
