Laying tile is easy if you are going to follow the steps properly. The base floor has to be prepared well before you lay the tile. Usually the base floor would have stains of wax, grease, and oil. These have to be removed before you lay the tile. You can use a cleaner or some other chemical to clean the oil, grease, and wax from the floor. Tiling should begin from the center of the floor. So after you do the cleaning of the floor you have to find out the center of the floor. If you know the dimensions of the room you can easily find out the center of the floor with some simple mathematics. Start from the center of the floor and lay the tiles till you reach the edges. When you reach the edges you might need to cut the tiles to small pieces depending on the size of the tile you are laying. Lay loose tiles and find out whether there is a need to cut the tiles.
When you take the tiles from the cartons, it is better to open all of them and take one piece from each carton and start laying. Sometimes you might be using different colors for laying in the room. In such cases you should know thoroughly in which pattern you are going to lay and then start laying accordingly. You will be applying tile cement before you lay them. Now-a-days there are even self sticking tiles which can be used easily.
