How Does A Bluetooth Work

You would have heard a lot about the term Bluetooth for quite sometime. It is essentially a device that acts as a short-range radio. Several Bluetooth devices can communicate with each other and essentially there will be one master and the other slave. A network of 8 devices in which there will be 1 master and the other 7 as slave is called a piconet.

According to the Bluetooth specifications one or more of such piconet can be combined to form a network called scatternet. Data can be transferred very fast between the master device and the slave device. The role of master and slave could even be switched based on which device transmits the data. When connecting two or more piconet some of the device in one piconet could act as a master for one piconet and it could be the slave for another piconet. Shorter packets of data are transferred in the Bluetooth devices if you compare them with other devices that use the same frequency band.
