Volleyball is enjoyed by people of all ages and there is no need of any special equipment to play it. Just a net and a volley ball is enough to start the game. Additionally you might require a water bottle in case you get tired.
To learn the basics you need another person to play with you. You can play the ball back and forth with that player and this is called ‘pepper’. The person who serves should be outside the boundary line in the free zone on his side of the court. For jump serve he should land outside the service zone.
Once the ball is served to the opponent team, they have to return it to the other side of the net to their opponent. This continues till the ball is returned to the other team. Before the return each team can touch the ball for up to 3 times. But a player has to touch it only once during a return in a particular team. He may touch it again if any of the other players touches it or their opponent touches it. If the receiving team breaks the serve then they have the chance to serve now without points.
