Bluetooth devices are used for wireless connections between devices. The devices need not be in the line of sight for operating. You can use blue tooth enabled cell phone to be connected to your laptop and use the cell phone as the modem if you want to connect to the internet. If you want to do so, you have to first switch on the Bluetooth software in your mobile phone. Now the next task is to make this Bluetooth device discoverable from your laptop. Boot your laptop and if you have Windows XP then it is easier. Go to My Bluetooth Places and View devices in the range. The OS will discover the cell phone Bluetooth device and you will see an icon appearing in your laptop. Now, right-click and select Discover Available Services. Now right click and use Dial-Up networking and then Connect Dial-up networking. After this the phone will prompt you to accept the connection. You might need to enter the Pin code to connect these two devices. Once you have entered the Pin, these devices are connected and you can use the dial button to connect to the internet.
