How An Lcd Works

You would have seen a lot of monitors and televisions that are very flat and slim and that consume very less power. The clarity in these monitors would also be good they are cool to our eyes too. Such monitors are called the LCD monitors that they use the LCD technology in them. The LCD monitors have two transparent panels through which light waves are only passed in a single place. These two transparent panels are polarized at 90 degrees so that the light that passes through them does not escape through the other. That is why they are polarized at 90 degrees. The panel initially appears dark. One of the segments of liquid crystal is applied with electricity and when the electricity is applied the crystals line up and the light waves are turned 90 degrees. We can say that the light wave is twisted in these panels and now it is visible on the other side.

If you compare the images that you see in LCD, they are actually not that much clear as you see in CRT monitors. Viewing angle will affect what you see in the LCD monitors.
