A ruler is a device that is used to measure the lengths. There are two types of rulers. One is the Metric Rulers and the other one is the English Rulers. The Metric Rulers are the easiest to read as there is no much complication. The markings in the metric rulers are in millimeters and centimeters. So you will not be dealing with much of the fractions as in the case of the English rulers. In a metric ruler the smallest marking are in the millimeters. The largest lines indicate the centimeters. You should know that 10 millimeters make one centimeter. For example if you mark 6 millimeters after the 3rd centimeter then the measurement you have taken would be 3.6 centimeters.
In the English rulers you will be dealing with inches. It is one of the difficult rulers to read. You will be dealing with fractions mostly. Each marking in an English ruler would be 1/8th of an inch or 1/16th of an inch depending on the type of ruler you have chosen. This indicates that some of the English rulers have 8 divisions in an inch and some have 16 divisions in an inch.

Patenting an idea is necessary if you want to earn money out of your ideas. If you patent your ideas then it is not possible for other to copy your ideas and make products out of it and sell it without your consent. If they need to do so, they have to pay you and get a license to get it done. By selling licenses for your ideas that are patented you can earn a lot.
To patent an idea you have to apply with the U. S. Patent and Trademark Office. First file a provisional application along with the detailed diagrams of your ideas. After filing such an application you have to file a regular patent application within one year of filing the provisional application. This is mandatory. To get more details on the different applications you can visit their website at www.uspto.gov. Filing a provisional application is very easy as you can do that yourself. But for the regular application you might need the services of a professional drafter.

Painting a rusty iron fence is not a big task if you know how to do it correctly. When you decide to paint a rusty iron fence then the first step is to remove the rust in the iron fence. The best and time tested way to do this is to use an emery paper and rub those rusts off the fence. You can even use brushes that are meant for that purpose. Once you have removed the rust from the iron fence, next is the job of which paint to choose for your iron fence.
Using automotive epoxy paint is more reliable and it would last for several years, even ten years. You can use just an epoxy primer for painting on the fence and just leave it. It would give the best look for your iron fences. There is no need for three coats as done in the automotives. You can use a sprayer when painting the fence as it would be easier than using a brush. If you use a brush to paint then you have to mix small amounts of paint so that it doesn t become harder after a few hours.
